Leccino Olives are among the most cultivated olives in Italy, given their delicate flavour. Their origin is supposed to be Tuscany, and there is reference to it since the Middle Ages, but now it is commonly cultivated in most of Italy, and has even been exported to the rest of the world (from California to Australia and Chile ). This has drastically increased their popularity, not only for oil production, but also as table olives, becoming the most widely grown olive in the world. This variety of olive (Leccino black olives) does not have extremely long ripening times due to their medium-small size, with high and constant productivity, quickly reaching their characteristic color (between dark green and dark purple). Furthermore, its shape is rather elliptical and not regular. Their collection, like all our collections, follows the traditional methodology, which keeps the taste and its organoleptic characteristics unchanged. Its uses are many, being it an olive that is easily usable in any type of processing. They are particularly suitable for marinades, thanks to their delicacy of flavor and their small size. But they can easily be used to season both first and second courses, such as a slice of salmon with tomato and Leccino cheese... or to create an excellent bruschetta with their paté.
